Local Trap Shooting Leagues Conclude Seasons with Final Results

The Chautauqua County Trap League and the Westfield League have announced their final scores. Week 12 marked the conclusion of competitive shooting for both leagues. Shooters across the region showcased their skills. These results highlight top individual and team performances.

Chautauqua County Trap League: Week 12 Highlights

Celoron and Pine Grove led the final week of competition. Several shooters achieved perfect scores. Jeff Gens of Pine Grove, Dennis Spoon and Jeff Jones from Celoron, and Mike Johnson, Kevin Johnson, and Jim Glazener of Pine Grove all scored 25. They showed exceptional accuracy in the first round.

Moving to the 50-target challenge, Dennis Spoon and Jeff Jones (Celoron) maintained their perfect streak. Kevin Johnson, Jeff Gens, Mike Johnson, and Jim Glazener (Pine Grove) also matched these scores. This demonstrated consistent performance.

In the 100-target event, Jeff Gens, Dennis Spoon, and Mike Johnson tied for the top spot. Each shooter achieved an impressive score of 99. Jeff Jones scored 98. Kevin Johnson also finished with 98 points. Their performances were outstanding.

The “High All Around” category also saw a three-way tie. Jeff Gens, Dennis Spoon, and Mike Johnson all earned 124 points. Jeff Jones and Kevin Johnson followed closely, each with 123 points. These scores reflect their overall shooting prowess across multiple disciplines.

Chautauqua County Team Standings

Celoron secured the top position in Week 12 team results with a total of 493 points. Their key shooters included Dennis Spoon (99), Jeff Jones (98), and Foster (98). Pine Grove was a close second, scoring 492 points. Jeff Gens (99) and Mike Johnson (99) were instrumental for their team.

Randolph finished third with 482 points. Snyder, Jones, and Sluga each contributed 97 points. Busti followed with 479 points. Shattuck and Engstrom led their team with 97 points each. Westfield rounded out the standings with 475 points. DeLuke scored 97 for Westfield.

Westfield League: Week 12 Highlights

The Westfield League also concluded its season with strong performances. Mark Barthel of Brocton, Ed Nickerson of Westfield, Mike Lobdell from Northern Chautauqua, and Doug Stover of Ripley all hit 25 targets. They achieved perfect scores in the initial round.

In the 50-target event, these same four shooters maintained their precision. Mike Lobdell, Doug Stover, Ed Nickerson, and Mark Barthel each scored a perfect 50. Their consistent aiming was evident throughout the competition.

Mike Lobdell of Northern Chautauqua claimed the highest score in the 100-target event with 99 points. Ed Nickerson, Doug Stover, and Mark Barthel each achieved 98 points. These scores highlighted a competitive final week.

For the “High All Around” title, Mike Lobdell took the lead with 124 points. Ed Nickerson, Doug Stover, and Mark Barthel all tied with 123 points. This shows a very tight race among the top shooters.

Westfield League Team Standings

Northern Chautauqua secured first place in the Westfield League’s final week. They scored 374 points. Mike Lobdell (99) led their squad. Brocton finished second with 372 points. Mark Barthel contributed 98 points to their total.

Westfield and Ripley tied for third place, both earning 369 points. Ed Nickerson scored 98 for Westfield. Doug Stover also posted 98 for Ripley. These final scores cap off an exciting season for local trap shooting enthusiasts.
