Jamestown Lakers Secure WNYAHL 10U Hockey Championship

The Jamestown Lakers 10U Squirt Major hockey team has achieved a significant victory. They were crowned champions of the Western New York Amateur Hockey League (WNYAHL). The Lakers defeated the Buffalo Regals with a final score of 4-1 in the championship game.

Dominant Season Leads to Playoff Success

Jamestown demonstrated outstanding performance throughout the regular season. The team finished with an impressive 23-1-1 record. They scored 124 goals while only allowing 19. This dominant run set the stage for their playoff journey. Head Coach Joe Campion praised the team’s hard work and dedication. He noted their commitment to teamwork and skill development.

The Lakers faced tough competition in the WNYAHL playoffs. However, they maintained their focus and winning momentum. Their path to the final included a strong semi-final win. Jamestown defeated the Wheatfield Blades by a score of 4-1. This victory secured their spot in the coveted championship match.

Championship Game Highlights

The championship game against the Buffalo Regals was a highly anticipated event. Both teams displayed strong defensive efforts in the first period. The Lakers, however, broke the deadlock. They scored early in the second period, seizing momentum. Jamestown continued to press their advantage. They added more goals, building a comfortable lead.

The Buffalo Regals fought hard, scoring once. Nevertheless, the Lakers’ defense remained strong. Goalies Luca Campion and Brody DeAngelo made key saves. The team’s strategic play ensured their lead. Consequently, as the final buzzer sounded, the Jamestown Lakers celebrated their well-deserved 4-1 triumph. This marked the culmination of a fantastic season for the youth hockey squad.

The championship-winning Jamestown Lakers 10U Squirt Major team comprises a talented group of young athletes. The roster includes goalies Luca Campion and Brody DeAngelo. Skaters are Ethan Contiguglia, Liam Johnson, Easton Himes, Cole Joly, Ethan Sample, Declan O’Neill, Greyson Nelson, Owen Ecker, Cole Conti, Liam Olson, Miles Himes, and Oliver Campbell.

Head Coach Joe Campion led the team with expertise. He was supported by a dedicated coaching staff. Assistant coaches included Ben Sample, Andrew Nelson, Joe Conti, and Andy Campbell. Jennifer Conti served as the team manager. Their combined efforts were instrumental in the team’s success. This entire organization contributed to this memorable WNYAHL championship title.

Future Outlook for Youth Hockey

This championship is a significant achievement for youth hockey in Western New York. It highlights the talent and potential within the Jamestown community. The Lakers’ success inspires other young athletes. Furthermore, it reinforces the strong tradition of ice hockey in the region. The team looks forward to celebrating this victory.
