Bruce Bradigan, Fredonia Community Leader and Veteran, Passes Away at 79

Fredonia, New York, recently lost a cherished community member. Bruce Bradigan passed away at 79 years old. His death occurred on February 17, 2026. He died at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Bradigan was a Vietnam veteran. He was also a local business owner. His extensive community service touched many lives throughout Chautauqua County.

A Life of Dedication and Entrepreneurship

Bruce Bradigan was born on January 25, 1947. His parents were Harry and Anna (Toth) Bradigan. He spent his early years in Fredonia. Bruce graduated from Fredonia High School in 1965. He furthered his education locally. He attended Jamestown Community College. Later, he studied at SUNY Fredonia.

Mr. Bradigan built a notable career. He began as a truck driver for Bradigan’s Inc. He later became general manager. This role was at Bradigan’s Fuel. In 1990, Bruce started his own company. He founded Bradigan’s Trucking. This business later expanded. It became Bradigan’s Fuel & Trucking. His entrepreneurial spirit was strong. Furthermore, he contributed to public service. He served as a director. This position was for the North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District.

Honoring a Valued Vietnam Veteran

Mr. Bradigan was a proud U.S. Army veteran. He honorably served during the Vietnam War. His military service defined his commitment. It reflected his deep patriotism. He brought these values to his community. He exemplified selfless service throughout his life.

Devotion to Family and Community

Family was paramount to Bruce Bradigan. He married Sandra (Sandy) Johnson on August 19, 1967. They shared a loving marriage. The couple had two children. Their daughter, Pamela S. Bradigan, preceded him in death. Their son, Eric B. Bradigan, survives his father. Bruce was a devoted grandfather. He leaves behind three grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Harry T. Bradigan. His siblings, Patricia A. Bradigan and Ronald H. Bradigan, are deceased.

Beyond his family, Bruce was a cornerstone of Fredonia. He was a dedicated member of the Fredonia Volunteer Fire Department. Specifically, he served with Hose Company No. 1. He was a member for over 50 years. He also held the esteemed position of past president. His civic engagement was extensive. He actively participated in several local clubs. These included the Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club. He also belonged to the Fredonia Beaver Club. The Moniuszko Club was another affiliation. He was also a member of the Samuel L. Derby Post American Legion.

Hobbies and Lasting Legacy in Fredonia

Bruce enjoyed many outdoor activities. He loved fishing and hunting. These were passions he pursued often. He also found enjoyment in yard work. Snowmobiling was another favorite pastime. These hobbies connected him with nature. They brought him personal joy.

Bruce Bradigan leaves a profound legacy. He will be remembered for his work ethic. His dedication to family was evident. His service to the Fredonia community was significant. His presence will be deeply missed. He made a lasting impact on many in Fredonia and Chautauqua County.

Funeral Arrangements

Private funeral services are planned. Family members will attend. Interment will occur at Forest Hill Cemetery. This cemetery is located in Fredonia, New York.
