High School Sports Updates
Several Wyoming high schools saw exciting sports action recently. Cheyenne East High School’s football team had a big win. They defeated Laramie High with a score of 35-14. The East High soccer team also had a successful week. They won two games, securing their spot in the regional tournament.
Meanwhile, the cross-country teams from schools across the state are preparing for the state championships. The championships will be held in Casper on October 26th. Teams are focused on training and improving their race times.
Community Recreation
The city of Cheyenne is offering several recreational programs this fall. These programs include adult softball leagues and youth basketball clinics. Registration is open until October 15th. Spaces are limited, so sign up soon.
In Laramie, the community recreation center is hosting a Halloween-themed fun run on October 31st. Participants are encouraged to dress in costumes. All proceeds will benefit the local food bank.
Local Tournaments and Competitions
A regional chess tournament will take place in Gillette on October 19th and 20th. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each division.
The annual Wyoming State Archery Competition is scheduled for October 27th in Casper. Archers from across the state will compete in various categories. This includes target archery and 3D archery.
Other News and Events
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department reminds hunters to purchase their licenses. Be sure to review hunting regulations before heading out into the field. Safety is the top priority.
The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens is hosting a fall festival on October 12th. The festival will feature pumpkin carving, hayrides, and live music. It’s a great event for the whole family.
