Moore Norman Technology Center (MNTC) has received a substantial grant. Boeing awarded MNTC $825,000. This funding will significantly boost aerospace technician training programs. The goal is to prepare Oklahoma’s future workforce. It will focus on critical areas like automation and robotics.

This major investment highlights Boeing’s commitment to the state. It supports the growth of Oklahoma’s aerospace sector. Furthermore, it helps address the demand for skilled workers. The grant will enable MNTC to offer advanced education. This ensures students gain in-demand skills for high-paying jobs.

Grant Bolsters Advanced Manufacturing Education

The new funds will directly impact MNTC’s educational offerings. Specifically, they target the Manufacturing Technology program. They also enhance the Automation and Robotics curriculum. These programs are vital for the modern aerospace industry. They equip students with practical, hands-on experience.

With this grant, MNTC will acquire state-of-the-art equipment. This includes advanced robotics and automation tools. Instructors will also receive specialized training. This ensures they can teach the latest industry techniques. Students will learn on the same technology used by top aerospace companies.

The aerospace industry is constantly evolving. New technologies require new skills. MNTC’s updated programs will meet these changing needs. Students will be well-prepared for entry-level positions. They will also be ready for career advancement within the sector.

Partnership Driving Economic Growth

This grant strengthens a long-standing partnership. Boeing and MNTC have collaborated for many years. Their joint efforts focus on workforce development. This partnership is crucial for Oklahoma’s economic future. It helps attract and retain high-tech industries.

Superintendent Carl Perkins of MNTC expressed gratitude. He noted the grant’s importance. “This investment helps us educate our future workforce,” Perkins stated. He emphasized the direct benefit to students and the local economy. The grant allows MNTC to expand its capabilities significantly.

Dr. Kristen Tettleton also spoke on the impact. She is MNTC’s Associate Superintendent of Instruction. “We are dedicated to preparing students,” Tettleton explained. “They will fill high-demand jobs in Oklahoma’s growing aerospace sector.” This commitment drives MNTC’s curriculum development.
